THE CREATIVE

Myrna van der Veen was born in Indonesia, grew up in the Netherlands, and feels best in her 'outdoor studio' on the savannas of Kenya. Discovering unexpected beauty by observing the dynamics in nature is her source of inspiration. To look is to listen.

Myrna, enchanted by authenticity and invisible beauty.  Captivated by the allure of imperfection and forgotten daily moments. Fascinated by the illusion of appearince as a means for survival and seized by geometrical and social proportions in architecture. Intrigued by people and their personal contexts and wondering how important language is to understand their stories. I love embarking on people's lives for a while immersing myself in who they are and how they see the world.

My pictures reflect what astonishes me and moments that touch my soul. I aim to catch the moment happening just in front of my eyes and catch up with the people afterward and give them my confidence because after all, they gave me theirs.
